Managed WiFi

Partnered with Aruba Networks, CBTS Managed WiFi provides secure, centrally managed and customizable Wireless Internet access with more power, higher capacity, and greater control than ever before. Managed WiFi is essentially a super-powered cloud-based Wi-Fi network. As long as an AP (access point) device is available, the WiFi network can be accessed anytime, anywhere. So, rather than having specialized IT staff at every location, CBTS Managed WiFi allows for a more centralized approach.  If a problem were to arise at a distant location, IT staff at the headquarters of the company could fix the issue, provided that they have access to a network interface, even if they are 2000 or more miles away.

EMERGE Brochure

Communication inside and outside of the workplace is no longer a simple 9-5 service. As a result, CBTS has created an entirely cloud-based communication solution – Emerge. No matter if you’re at your desk, on the road, or even in Amsterdam, all of your communication is easily accessible and always within reach.By linking your communication devices in real-time, CBTS’ Emerge has created a faster and altogether more organized communication system. Emerge has broken away from the crowd of Communication and Collaboration solutions and offers one in which CBTS and the client work together to create flexible, scalable, and above all customizable solutions for each individual company.

Communications & Collaboration

CBTS’ Communication and Collaboration (C&C) service, Emerge, connects to existing VoIP and acts as a hub to centralize a company’s avenues of communication. Emerge replaces a customer’s telephone system and Internet access with a fully managed cloud-based solution. By taking audio, video and Web conferencing, call centers, call recording, mass notification and messaging and traditional voice solutions to the next level, Emerge successfully makes these forms of communication more readily accessible to users at all levels of an organization. Important calls can be forwarded through emails, messages or forwarded to cell phones or voicemail, and voicemails can be heard even through emails. Everything is available when, how and where you want it.

CBTS Brochures

The folks at CBTS (Cincinnati Bell Technical Services) wanted 3 brochures written and I was the perfect intern for the job! They needed one for Managed WiFi, one for EMERGE (their Unified Communications product) and one for Communication & Collaboration.

After a few rounds of editing and more research than I care to talk about, I completed my first actual bit of advertising copy. Scroll through the pictures to see the pages of the brochures.

Below the three brochures is a link to a CBTS headline challenge and an special idea for Managed WiFi.

CBTS WiFi Pig

The Project:

New small and large pig statues similar to those already scattered throughout Cincinnati will be wrapped in wires and have Cincinnati Bell managed WiFi inside them.  The wire wrapping can come from old WiFi systems that have been replaced by Cincinnati Bell. However, if that is not possible, new wire can be used instead or the pigs can be painted with the Cincinnati Bell logo or Managed WiFi symbol.

Some of the pigs can be void of WiFi and simply used to mark areas in which Cincinnati Bell WiFi is already available around the city, such as in Fountain Square and P&G Park. We will also need to design signs to notify guests when they are in a WiFi Pig zone or have some sort of WiFi symbol (or a WiFi signal strength detector) painted (or as part of) on the pig (like the snout).

How and Why:

Work with Artswave!

These pigs will have the power to connect communities and people not only to each other, but also to a more powerful and widely available WiFi network.  It will allow businessmen and women to explore and work away from the office.  This “mobile work environment” is increasingly important to younger generations, especially those just joining the workforce.  With the ability to work away from their desks, happiness as well as productivity will increase, which will benefit the economy in the long run.
